Somuart means cleaning.
The name is Khmer for “cleaning”, carried over from Yoshikazu’s family cleaning business. Fascia work, he says, cleans the body up from the inside.
As a young volunteer in Cambodia he met his wife, a foot reflexology practitioner. Through her he came to feel how precious it is to ease someone’s body, and he took up this path.
After years of cleaning, his hands could tell how much wax was on a floor by touch alone. He wants that same feeling in seitai, the moment his hands simply know.
Before opening, he gave free sessions to more than 200 friends and acquaintances. Today, whole families come to him, from children to grandmothers.

“In a word, what I’m aiming for is to be a master craftsman.”
“When the body eases, you can be kinder to people. I love the word harmony.”
“I’d like to be like the medicine box in your home, there when things get hard.”
